Who Wears Short Shorts?

Last week, I talked the newest ways to wear cut-off denim shorts with Olivia on Good Morning Arizona. Inspired by celebrities like Hilary Duff, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, I chose five unique ways to style this summer staple.

From L-R:

Our first look is from Planet Blue. A cozy Henley underneath a jewel-sleeved jacket makes an interesting combo and when combined with blue cutoffs, you have a perfect late summer look.

Next, GAP. Camouflage prints are everywhere and can be substituted in for a solid print. Here, I paired the masculine print with a pink wraparound tank - a piece that is perfect for the office as well.

Our third look is from Buckle. Red denim shorts are a statement and here, I paired them with a sweet, lace-adorned flowy blouse and flat sandals.

Number four: Forever 21. This could be my favorite look because not only do I love black, I love a sheer blouse paired with black denim and booties. This whole look is a home run.

Last but not least, the fifth look is from Urban Outfitters. The top is completely office-appropriate, but when paired with classic blue denim, it gets a sexy update.

80s Fashion on... Ami Dolenz

Currently going crazy over all the fashion from one of my most fave 80's movies She's Out of Control.

One of the best makeovers in movie history (see also: Andie in The Devil Wears Prada), Ami Dolenz is pure 80's gold. Black-and-white striped thigh-highs, either on their own or under strategically ripped jeans; pretty angelic white eyelet skirt + top paired with white thigh-highs; a bright blue maillot with a low scoop back and bow; and maybe my all-time fave look - a jean skirt with ruffles on the back, oversized white tee with button-adorned suspenders and an oversized denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up and collar popped.

Maybe the movie was critically panned but for me, the fashion makes all better.

Sunglasses are the Best Do Not Disturb Sign

Last Tuesday, I got to talk sunglasses, classic styles and latest trends, on location at an INCREDIBLE Paradise Valley mansion. Look out for styles reminiscent of the 80's and 90's like rounded lenses (think Brandon and Brenda Walsh) and mirrored frames.

[L - R]
Gucci: hard to see, but Daynalyn was in a pair of oversized round Gucci sunnies, tri-colored, with navy blue, tortoise brown and gold coloring the frames.

Urban Outfitters: Gaby was in a pair of silver mirrored sunnies, the top part of the frame a metallic leopard print.

Intermix: Michelle had on Illesteva, one of my all-time fave brands, in mirrored pink with literally no frame. Trendy and perfect for summer.

I was wearing a classic pair of Burberrys, rectangular shaped and color-branded on the stems. Kim was in a pair of pink and black tortoise shell glasses by Oliver Peoples and Javie was in a pair of classic mirrored Ray-Ban aviators. Maverick and Goose would be proud.

Miss Mix-a-Lot

Mixing prints is my THANG, so naturally, I was over-the-moon excited to feature five incredible looks with Olivia on Channel 3. Ready? Here we go!

[L - R]

Joie: light floral and brown-based leopard print mix seamlessly together because of the similar color tones. That's a key element when mixing prints.

Intermix: the black tone-based shirt and its moody florals complements black and white polka dots of this fitted and flared skirt.

H & M: maybe one of my fave mixed prints looks of all time. Color plays a big part again: the leopard print is gray-based as is the floral jumper. This is a perfectly bold yet understated look that can take you straight to the office.

Forever 21: while this look's colors are more complimentary than cohesive, it totally works. A white-checked navy mini skirt and the ever-trendy bomber jacket goes extra girlie in a delicate floral print.

Planet Blue: dainty white flowy shirt with thin blue stripes mixes perfectly with a flirty blue and white floral skirt. Done and done.

Me: I'm in a sheer black polka dot blouse from H & M and a thick-striped navy and black striped flared skirt from GAP. This works because the subtle print of the skirt is a perfect balance for the busier but dainty print of the top. Louboutins always and forever. 😘

Swing Batter Batter! Fashions for Spring Training Games in Arizona.

Spring Training is in full swing (ha ha) here in Arizona and I got to show off my fave looks for enjoying a game. Whether you're in the bleachers or on the lawn, you're going to be cool, comfy and downright cute.

[From L-R]

GAP: gaucho romper can go daytime or worktime. Here, I've shown it with flat sandals as its own piece. Pair it with black pointy heels and a fitted blazer and off to work you go.

Forever 21: a cold shoulder top in a breezy red and white pinstripe? Yes PLEASE! Add a pair of faux-suede shortie shorts that you can literally wear all summer and you're game-set.

Planet Blue: I am absolutely and unequivocally OBSESSED with plaid tops from Rails. They are soft and so comfy and you can pair them with anything. I'm showing a top with the staple cut-off denim short here, but I've worn my Rails with vegan leather leggings and a faux fur vest for a great fall look.

Urban Outfitters: skinny stretch jeans and a canary yellow tank. Hi, Spring personified.

Joie: I've literally never met a romper I haven't loved. I'd wear this one on its own in the summer, but add a loose-fitting white linen blazer and silver brogues to make this the perfect summer Friday look.

Me: I'm in a white blazer from Zara, silk leopard print top from Joie, skinny stretch light black jeans from GAP and my staple Tory Burch flats.

The Key Pieces You Need to Master Parisian Cool Girl Style

Guest post by Alison Goodman, marketing director Scottsdale Quarter

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to fashion, I have complete European Envy, which of course originates with the ladies of France. French style can be summed up in two words: effortless chic.

H & M – Black Camisole and Deep Purple Skirt
1
A black silk camisole, like this one from H & M, may quite literally be the perfect topper: it can be paired with matte black tuxedo pants, a short flirty skirt (this one’s also from H & M) and dark denim. Wear it under a black blazer, fur vest or moto jacket for winter. It’s a go-to staple in any Parisian’s wardrobe.

Express – D’Orsay Gray Flats
Express - D'Orsay Flats
French women wouldn’t dream of being uncomfortable, but that doesn’t mean they’ll sacrifice style. A pair of flat, pointed-toe D’Orsay flats from Express are the perfect shoes for walking all over town… not to mention, they’ll go with everything in your closet, from a mini LBD to slim jeans and a white button down.

Calypso – White Linen Shirt
Calypso - White Linen Shirt
Speaking of white button downs, this is another staple that every woman should have in her wardrobe. Dress it up by tucking it into a black pencil skirt or dress it down by half-tucking it into a pair of track pants. CALYPSO St. Barth has one of my favorite styles.

Dr. Martens – Fold-over Combat Boots and Planet Blue – Cigarette Pants
2
Another style staple for the French? Fold-over combat boots, like the ones from Dr. Martens. Create an edgy look by pairing them with a floral sundress in the warmer months, but be sure to keep them on hand for cooler temps. My go-to look is to pair these with black leggings, like the ones from Planet Blue, and an oversized sweater.

Sepora – Nars Lipstick in Heat Wave and Kendra Scott – Earrings
3

Another key to dressing like the Parisians is to keep your accessories simple, like with this silver embellished pair of studs from Kendra Scott Jewelry. The ultimate simple accessory, you ask? A bold red lip. My go-to shade of red is Nars’ Heat Wave, found at Sephora.
